Internal Organizing: we can only expand the tent if we bring in more people. The Party's elected leaders should cover "turf" regularly to ensure all of Howard County has a voice within the party. We should have an open door for others and be willing to walk through new doors ourselves.
New American and Young Voter Outreach: Howard County is a county of immigrants and families, and we should be reaching out to new citizens and newly registered voters to understand what kind of politics they want to see from their party and educate them about the political process.
Meet Howard County Residents Where They Are: We must creatively tell the story of what our elected officials are working on, what motivates them to work on it, and we must commit to listening in new ways. Not everyone has time to go to a meeting in-person or on Zoom. We must meet our neighbors where they are (Reddit, podcasts, TikTok, farmers markets, places of worship, soccer fields, pickleball courts, etc.)
Candidate Questionnaires: We must ask candidates pointed questions on the record so that voters know what they stand for and so that voters know who they are voting for. For example: Do they take money from PACs that support the for-profit gun industry? Will they refrain from taking money from certain PACs that support foreign governments violating international human rights laws? Endorsements should not be contingent on these questions, but the information should be available for the public's awareness.
